Last week I graunched my alloy wheel on entering an underground car park in France. I had to have a new tyre and wheel refurbish. Question! The new wheel is like new. How do they do it, apart from sending the wheel back to Audi and part exchanging for a new wheel. My new wheel looks absolutely like new, I'm amazed. How's it done???? Many thanks. Bramley.

My friend restores alloy wheels. They build up the damaged part with alloy weld and then turn/grind it back into shape, then polish and refinish.
While trying to enjoy a sarnie at the burger van up the road from me recently, I was being driven mad by the noise coming from the neighbouring tyre-&-exhaust place.

I commented to Tracey (who runs the burger business) that I'd never heard that much noise, going on for so long, coming from the place before. She said, "Oh, they'll be refurbishing a set of alloys again". So I took a look and it's done (at least there) by nothing more complicated than a guy using a grinding tool to go over and over the surface until it's polished back to new.

Thank you! But the wheel looks exactly like the others. I'm sure it's not possible by eye and hand alone.
