Avast Blocking My External Hard Drive

My Avast demanded to be updated yesterday, so I did. Now when I plug my external hard drive in (a little Maxell portable) nothing comes up and I can't back things up. I assume these two events are connected as there was no trouble till today.

Is there any way to tell Avast to permit it? Or of restoring the earlier Avast? (Though I assume the latter would be risky.)

(Please don't advise installing MSE instead as I had the same trouble with it in the past; that's why I installed Avast in the first place.)

huge storm on the radar seems to have split in two so it can avoid London. It's bypassed Eastbourne too but it might lay waste to Norfolk.

I've just looked on the minute cast and it's heading this way.
I don't like thunderstorms .I get really nervy.
We used to have a dog Mickey who used to hide in the cupboard under the stairs when it stormed .I felt like getting in there with him when it started to thunder.

we did get a downpour but only a short one. It cut out our Sky dish for a while and we had to look at one of our old-fashioned ones - 12 lines to the inch, black and white and the potter's wheel afterwards.

good morning. We had weather from around 10pm to 5am. I was able to prep for it and dose the dogs so it wasn’t a full on blind panic but a night I don’t want to repeat...we are all very tired today

Hello, it's a bit cooler today thank goodness. Been shopping, ate a cheese and onion bake from Greg's, yum. Walking round the shops for,4 hours and I've had enough. So back home for a cuppa and a snooze! Off to a variety show tonight. The 60s show was good last night. Some Scots man kept asking me to,dance but I said no I prefer to bop on my own ( well no,good leading them on is it. ) so he happily bopped with sister. We were invited back to his hotel, they were a mixed group, for drinks but we said no. I needed to get teeth, and bra off, was tired!

we had thunder and rain last night, but not within an hour of each other. One of the neighbours claims to have seen lots of lightning but I didn't see any. As for today, nothing, Thursday, well, let's see what happens.

hello all, its cool and grey here and quaite nice. I have got a mozzie bit on the side of my big toe joint. Its only one bite but my foot has swollen so I can’t get a shoe on and it itches like fire. My crocs still fit but that feels like red hot sandpaper...barefoot and indoors today methinks.

Good morning! It's been raining. Had a super time at "A right royal variety show" it was so funny and good music and dancing. They even had the royals heads poking out of a balcony and a draped union flag , really enjoyed it. Mind you it was full of oops and wheelchairs, I felt positively young and sprightly!
Having a quiet day, just a wee bit of shopping!
Mossie bites this year are dreadful in ibiza, seems to be a different type of Mossie, think it's the tiger mosquito, the bites really itch and last about a week, big nasty bites too.

It's just poured down here and it's really muggy.
The thunderstorm early hours on Wednesday was horrendous.Some poor chap down the coast somewhere lost most of the upper part of his house when it was struck by a lightning bolt.
I'd better move or I'll be stuck to the chair in this heat.I've a basket of ironing for my brother and I don't feel like doing it really.The weather is affecting my itises and I've got a headache.

5 hrs roaming round the shops today. Home now. Shaney I fi alky found Dr wernats Roth powder. Will use it tomorrow. Had such a good time at the show last night I've booked the same front row seats for next Tuesday. Tomorrow we go to Hayling Island for a knees up although my right knee is giving me gip!!

Bit dull out there but it's supposed to stay dry.
You sound as if you're having a good time Neti.They don't have any very good shows here any more.Many years ago we used to get all the top variety stars of the time in GY.I remember taking my mum to see Danny la Rue.
They have the sixties shows over in Lowestoft and their Marina Theatre is brilliant but my bopping days are done and I'm afraid five hours round the shops would kill me off ..lol.
Hope you get on alright with the wernets .I find it good ,better than that oozy gloop.

it's all go here, OH got summoned to appear on telly this afternoon, and it all went well. I have been sitting at home uncovering Scottish ancestors. jno jnr has been offered a better job with more pay. So at least two of us have had an exciting weekend.

I have spent today sitting around not doing much and telling the dogs that its only pouring rain and the world is not ending. The ground must have been really dry though. There’s not so much as a puddle or a squelchy spot anywhere.
