Any ideas what causes this message? It's driving me nuts. I can connect to broadband on one PC, but my new upgraded machine gives that error message (even though USB modem lights up fine.

Is it a networking prob, or a hardware setup prob?

Thanks a lot.

Sounds like a software configuration issuue.

Which modem / ISP are you using ?

Hi Billy,

Homecall Broadband on a Thomson Speedtouch 330. May well be software/IP setup, its a newboard and new load.

Cheers

Not trying to teach Granny to suck eggs but presumably Homecall sent a CD which you've loaded ?

DSL or line light ON ? When you say it's a new load - a new load of Windows (if so which version / Service Pack) and a new board ?

Is there any error code associated with the message ? I'm digging deep into my memory here but username/password being incorrect are possibilities.

Hi Billy, thanks very much, it was indeed a software fault. It turns out that WinME is unique in requiring these DialUpAdapter problems to be fixed by using the Internet Setup Wizard.
