alien in my inbox

I'm running Windows 7 with thunderbird for emails etc and it's showing one unanswered incoming post, but it will not show up for me to 'bin' it or even read it

I'm sure it's rubbish but how do I get rid of it ... any helpers ??

Try going through all of your inbox instead of just looking at the top end - it is possible that the email has an incorrect, old, date and is actually much further down the emails you have than you think.
