I've just got a new printer - Epson SX435W and so far it's been great.

I run it wireless and am having no problems sending things from my PC to the printer, but it won't scan anything in and sent it back to the PC.

Do I have to connect the two with a USB cable? Surely if things can be sent in one direction they should be able to be sent in the other?

Please, some bright spark, help!

It might not be the same problem but the current one I have and the last one wouldn't scan to PC if I used the commands on the actual printer, they wouldn't recognise it was connected but if I go to the control centre installed on my laptop and ask it to scan from there it works.

Thanks, rojash.

I have already installed all the software for the printer, but for some reason the display screen on the printer doesn't show a connection to the PC. The printer shows an error code I-60, but I am running Vista.

Do I give up and connect by USB?

You are a star, Evian.

That worked. Stupid bloody printer.
Lol, glad that worked as I was begining to feel a stupid. Christ knows why they don't work the other way around.

Must be the little pixies that live in the printer. I blame them. The ones living in my computer are too busy hiding files and deleting emails before I've read them.
Funny, I've got ones in mine that moves certain e-mails to my junk folder. It's just bad luck that they happen to be ones I would rather not deal with. ;)
