Not Responding!!

I have recently experienced frequent incidents when trying to open a website I receive a window saying "page(s) un-responsive"
I am given options of either "Kill" or "Wait"

This is not just one or two websites but practically every time I click on the link to open

I am using Google Chrome
Any ideas?

I'm constantly getting this and think its due to the shockwave flash plugin . I've tried every suggestion on the chrome website help but can't seem to find a solution myself
