Annoying, when I click on a link, I can't find a way back to the previous page without going back to the desktop..........any ideas?

In Safari you mean Sqad? If so, does the link open a new tab or in the tab you are already in, if the latter then just tap the 'back' arrow at the top left of the screen, if a new tab then just just select the original tab at the top of the screen. If you mean a link from an email though, either double click the home button to bring up the list of running apps and tap on the mail icon or if you have multitasking gestures enable in 'settings', 'general' just swipe the screen left or right with four or five fingers to switch between apps (this assumes you have IOS 5 installed)

Sqad, if the resolution was the 'running apps' then don't forget to go in there from time to time to clear out (touch and hold an app 'til it wobbles and then touch the red no entry sign) running apps you don't need, this is especially true if you find the iPad starting to run slowly or quitting out of apps unexpectedly. Friend of mine complained her iPad was acting up and when I looked the kids had left about 30 games running as well as her stuff!
