Links problem

Why does the desktop wipe clean when I click onto a link? It only started doing this a week or so ago, but it`s ok the second time I click onto the same.

Refresh you mean ? I never know why the desktop refreshes, 'tis a law unto itself. Maybe Explorer problem ? Maybe lack of resources somehow ? Sorry dunno.
Are you giving the computer enough time to finish booting?
