you can hold crtl button down at the same time roll your mouse wheel back and forth that will make text larger / smaller
Try clicking on the little arrow next to the %size at the bottom right of the screen. Select Custom and then change the zoom to the 150% you want. Click OK. That should keep it at the size you want.
I am guessing that, as you have a laptop, you may not have a mouse connected to it; so you will not have a scroll wheel to do as suggested by deggers. Furthermore, I assume you are talking about the size of print on pages which you are viewing on the internet; such as in AB.

Press 'Ctrl' (bottom left on keyboard) hold it down and then press the plus key (+) to enlarge. The same principle with the minus key (-) will make entries on the page smaller.

PS....The thought comes to mind that you could be asking about fixing the size of fonts in documents which you are 'word processing'. In which case it would be necessary for you to give a bit more information, for folk in AB to assist you with your problem. Info such as the word processor involved could be helpful.

We've all been beginners with computers and I am still learning with the help of friendly people within AB.

Thankyou all for trying to help.I've tried your tips but nothing seems to work.I have a Sony through a router,Microsoft mouse with wheel,Vista.Windows 7.When I click on the icons print is always 100% size.I have to change everytime to 150% which I need and feel comfortable with.I have done what Yorky Lass said and changed zoom to 150% clicked on OK but it does not stay on the size when I go from that page to another.Anymore suggestions please?Perhaps going into Control Panel or do I phone the Sony shop?
I would be delighted to find a solution to your problem. However, I am still not sure of what really is the difficulty which you are experiencing.

You have said.."I go into tools and click on 150%".....Permit me therefore to enquire...." Tools on what sort of page. Is it when you are typing a document; or viewing one which already has been been printed"?

Please comment further but, (as you are a beginner) I suggest that for the moment you stay clear of the 'Control Panel'.

I think you are talking about web pages which come over in a set format... I think you may have to do each one individually unless one of the geeks can help I often have to blow up web pages because of small font sizes in the display
In control panel, there are all the adjustments for people with disabilities and larger fonts for the web are in there iirc. Sorry I can't be any more specific but I am a mac user.
How to change it for all browsers here;

I asked about the problem for IE 8 ,there is a box in internet options to increase the font size but it will not stay that way permanently .
