When I have the option to email any info the mail is from outlook and I cannot send/receive on it as get an error 0x800CCC0D which I cannot fix. I use a google address now so how can I use this instead when just clicking to send from a download site.

I probably phrased the question slightly wrong but following his reply I've now got it working as I wanted. I'm not too familiar with Gmail but I guess you'll find the answer to your problems by typing "gmail default email client" (without the quotes) into the google search bar and then explore the various hits.

Check your Internet connection and account settings as it could be one of the reason for this error. If the connection and settings are fine then it might be possible that there are some other reasons like firewall settings, anti-virus settings or corrupt Outlook express (dbx) file.

Check your firewall and anti-virus settings. However, if the dbx file is corrupted then you can take the help of an tool named as Stellar Outlook Express Recovery software which could allow you to recover your corrupt file.
