amt issues please help for dell pc

Hi i have a dell pc and have put windows 7 on it however i keep getting a messiage saying i have amt active management technology ENABLED click here to enable or disable,but when u click the click here it just takes you to intel site nothing more....i now for some reason have got rid of the messiage that pops up but my question is is it ok to have amt enabled and if not how can i get rid of it as going into the bios doesnt work as it asks for password and doesnt seem to let me put one in etc..so is it ok to have enabled or is my pc at risk to do so and if so how can i get rid of it please hlp as want to be sure im safe on the net....hope this makes sence just when i google they seem to think i should disabled for risk reasons but surely it wouldnt be on pc if it was a risk would it..
