pdf attachments microsoft office outlook 2003

toshiba laptop running windows vista.when i get an e-mail with a pdf attachment
i need to save it in my documents then open with adobe to read it.
opening from the e-mail opens it in notepad but shows nonesense (to me that is).any help appreciated.

Download it, find it, right-click and choose properties.

Next to where is says "Opens with Notepad" click the "change" button.

Select your PDF reader of choice.
why will your Vista not read PDF files? the whole point of a PDF file is that most computers can read them. If you have Adobe on your PC then it should open from the email attachment straight into the reader?

ab editor i do this but does not open directly from e-mail.if the attachment is a word document etc.it opens from the e-mail directly
kristal53 i have adobe & will read the attachment but not directly from e-mail.
Adobe Reader is utter garbage. Do yourself a huge favour by uninstalling it and then installing this: http://www.foxitsoftw...om/Secure_PDF_Reader/
