I have a problem with my laptop. I closed it down as normal this morning but when i came to use again this evening the cursor/pointer was locked, i can't move it in any direction, so can not login into my laptop. Can anyone tell me what i can do to free it so i can use my laptop.

As a temporary fix using the Ctrl, Enter and arrow keys can often be used in replace of a cursor.
My Toshiba Ltop..has a toggle to disable the pad if I use a mouse..maybe yours has something similar.....did you accidently press it if there is one? if you normally use the pad then stick a mouse in a usb port. If my idea is right then the mouse will work the pointer. Even dusting the keyboard too hard might toggle the thing.
This might be the same problem I have occasionally and may this solution may work for you too. I just toggle the cursor with my finger via the sensitive touchpad which seems unaffected. Once I've got the cursor moving agin, the mouse works too.
Too many mays, sorry.
