After windows update thur night was left with a black screen, had to use system restore, sorted now, problem is there is an update showing on taskbar and it's been installed three times ok but the notification won't go away, it's for Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538242)

Click on start type in search bar Troubleshooting , When it opens scroll down the menu to fix problems with Windows update. Click on this and when it opens follow the prompts to carryout the repair. This should fix your problem and you will be able to install it.
