I want to add to the 512Mb DDR DIMM memory in my HP Pavilion PC. There are so many
DDR DIMMs available, all of them having something like 333MHz in their descriptions. How do I find out which is the right frequency for my PC?

I tend to go to the crucial site and use their app to tell me what is suitable. You can then buy there or use the info to buy elsewhere.

To be honest if you buy a higher frequency than your PC can cope with it'll just operate at your PC's speed anyway.
You could run a scan here: http://www.crucial.co...AA-Y:20110609163938:s

Or open your PC tower, remove the already installed chip and check the label on it.

Thanks, folks. The trouble is that the user notes give no idea of what model of HP it is, let alone what memory card it supports. I'll just have to look inside to see what the present memory is. Thanks again.
you can download the free SIW software from this site. It will analyse your system parameters for you.

Hi chakka.....I have an HP Pavillion.

If you click open 'Control Panel' and then click 'System', you will have a page of Basic Information which will include the Model No. of your Comp.( e.g. mine is s3811uk). You will also have a 'clickable link' to 'Online Support' along with a Tel.No. which might be worth a ring. (0870 010 4320)

Best of luck........Ron.
