SurreyGuy		(Wed 12:45 01/Jul/09) Question Author I know many (but not all) players' contracts expire on June 30th, but Sky have been reporting actual signings since May, e.g. Gareth Barry, Glen Johnson plus numerous ones in the Football League.
Gromit		(Wed 15:31 01/Jul/09) The transfer window in England opens on 1st June, but in most of Europe it open 1st July. That is why the Ronaldo deal which has been done and dusted for weeks can only go ahead now.
