As part of a christmas gift for my father, I've just bought an Okuma Aventa VT1000 for 69.99, which I found on the internet, from a proper fishing tackle shop. These normally retail at 89.99 or even 99.99.

On the box it says "Designed and Engineered in Germany", but on the Body Foot I found the little gold 'Made in Taiwan' sticker..

Have I been sold a fake or is the packaging misleading ?

I suppose 'engineered' could mean the Germans set the dials on the machines for the Taiwanese to work with. If it was a real fake it would hardly tell you where it came from and it would probably be a lot cheaper than the original rather than just 20% off. My guess is yours is ok.
