Does anyone else think that the word “restaurant” should be spelled “restaraunt” since when we pronounce it, we make the third syllable rhyme with “haunt’ and not the second?...Things like this keep me awake at knight.

I'm starting to think that my silly question could be complicated by the difference between the North American and British ways of pronouncing the letter "a". For example, when we say "aunt" it rhymes with "ant" and not "aren't".
Almost as bonny as Psybbo.......
this is too much for me to cope with. foreign languages as well. flipping heck.

Thanks, Tony, I will...Cheers to you all.
It's the difference in where we are, stewey - it's like some people here say joolery instead of pronouncing it Jewelry, or sekkertry instead of secretary.
