Hypothetically - if I put a £10 each-way double on two horses, one of which won at 5/2 and one came 3rd at 15/8, and the places at 1/5 rather than at 1/4, how much would I epect to get back? TIA

The link doesn't work, or the calculator doesn't show?

If the latter turn off ad block plus for that site.

£63.75 (that includes your £40.00 stake)

Sibton, it's just a £20 stake - this is why I'm querying this - I looked it up on free bet calculater and it came out to £34.38,(a profit of £14.38) which I would have thought to be correct, but not what the bookmaker paid out - my OH received £20.64, making precisely £0.64 profit. He went back t the bookmaker and took a print out of the calculations taken from the Free Bet Calculator, but still came back saying that they had rung their manager, and that it was correct. So Chuck, you come nearest the bookie's calculatiions, would you be very kind and tell me how you got to that number please, Thanks very much.

OK everyone, forgot it please - the silly person who filled in the bet slip put it down a 2 single bets instead of a double!! There are some red faces here now!
Don’t go and spend your £63 just yet!

Your win double is lost and all you have is a place double at 5/10 (or 1/2 if you prefer) and 15/40 (3/8).

£10 at 1/2 returns £15. £15 at 3/8 returns £20.62. So 62p profit !!!
Oops sorry , didn't see double! Will re-calculate, oh dear £20.62(inc your £20 stake so profit of 62p)
We overlapped. I don't know how the calculator arrived at £34.38, but £10 at 5/2 (your winning bet if you placed two win singles) returns £35.

Now I'm confused !!!
