I can't be arsed to read all that JJ but I thought both teams were rubbish.
Poor game that only came to life with ten minutes left.
Certainly no showcase for European football

Where did you get that idea from?

"I can't be arsed to read all that JJ"
What, my well structured, carefully composed analysis?
=0(
Well, I didn't see the game, but the papers are full of it this morning.

Question Author
Didn't Chelsea finish 6th?
I thought they were always in the top 4.
They played to a plan....and guess what....it worked. Remember Chelsea and other teams never get Fergie Time to assist them.
Question Author
But if all teams play to that plan, both sides will come on to the pitch and stand in their own goal mouths for 90 minutes.
IMHO if you've won the European Cup and FA Cup your league position pales into insignificance!
Well I guess you have a lot to thank AVB for then
Question Author
But didn't they win it by killing the game?
A draw sounds like it was almost inevitable.
In future, when Chelsea play, they should not bother playing the game itself, and just go straight into a penalty shoot out, LOL

Question Author
What is "AVB"?
Andre Villas-Boas

Question Author
Oh yes, he was their manager.

Question Author
Okay, but their record for the past 10 years has been ...
4th, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 2nd, and now ... down to 6th
That makes them a bit rubbish.

To answer your question though JJ, I thought Chelsea played to their strengths and were tactically sound. In that stadium and environment I thought it was a fantastic show of character to come back the way they did.
Must would have given up the ghost with a (supposedly winning) goal on 82 minutes.
And as much as I dislike him I thought Ashley Cole gave the most accomplished display of defence I've ever seen, topped off with IMHO the best penalty of the night, given the significance of it at that stage.

I expect you're right, Phil
I'll go back to it JJ, I'd take 6th and the European and FA Cups any day of the week!
Can I ask Philtaz your thoughts on John Terry's contribution to the game?

Question Author
Did he kick anyone, or get off with his team mates wife?
LOL
He did a great job of sharing the burden of lifting aloft that massive trophy ric.ror, it's a two man job!
I reckon most of the Chelsea players were more relaxed knowing he was there and. It back in UK, tomming their WAG's!
