Morning punters. A bit gloomy but a bit of "cut in the ground". Remember last week when I flagged up that I had passed over some of my old favourites, well I was right to be fearful. We had an unexpected "visit" from family and I missed all the racing sitting out with a beer and having a laugh and a chat. The smile was wiped from my face when I saw that Poet's Word, US Navy Flag and, the killer blow, Euchen Glen bolting up @20/1. I had only done that one 7 days previously and it ran 2nd and I had done Poet's Word every time it ran prior to last week. Dohh.

I had a little punt on the Open earlier and am pleased to see Tommy Fleetwood make a move but am watching for Shaun Norris to move up the field. I have him @400/1 E/W and need him in the first 8 for a little touch. Today's selections.Enhanced place at reduced odds taken where available.

Almoghared @5/1 2.25 Newbury
Highgarden @4/1 2.45 Newmarket
Hey Jonesy @10/1 3.00 Newbury
It's The Only Way @ 11/1 3.35 Newbury

£1.00 E/W Acca. 4 X 30p Trebles. 6 X 30p Doubles. £5.00 Stake, possible £4.7k+ return. Options to cover the last 3 or last two depending on how things pan out. Good Luck.

Morning ken I'm on Tommy Fleetwood £5ew @22/1 10 places..
And £5 ew rickie fowler @18/1 10places so fingers crossed as they are both up there
Today, i've come to a big decision. Just for a change, i'm going to put those bookies out on the streets. I'm going to crucify them, take them to the cleaners, bury them. Knock 'em bow-legged. And, if i don't, it certainly won't be for the want of trying:-)

My 'fanciful' lucky 15 is; Sumkindofking, Red Balloons, Penwortham and Mukhay'yam which, if successful, will see me some £26,418 richer. On a more realistic level;

Hassle @ 7/1 - 2.05 M/R
Bacchus @ 5/1 - 3.00 N'b
Mr Wagyu @ 11/4 - 3.25 N'm
Flying North @ 4.45 N'b

Win singles, 20p lucky 15 and £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £17, 4 winners = £2,221

Good luck all
As far as the golf is concerned, i put a few e.w. bets on, of which, just 2 are in with any sort of chance. Kuchar and Reed. On recommendation from a so-called expert, I did Darren Clarke to be top Irish player - hah! - he ended +23 after 36!!
^^
Flying North is 11/2, by the way :-/

Hi Ken. Did have a look at the price before your second post. Just about to settle down and put the TV on for an hour or so after a bit of garden tidying. Catch up on the Golf, Grand Prix and have the first race on to see whether I need to cover the remainder.
Just had the S F/C in the first at N'b to a whopping £2 stake :-)

It would appear that Reed's earlier progress stalled somewhat and i am left with just the one contender for the Golf :-(

Ah well said the soul. A shocking run from a Gosden trained nag. Have to cover the last 3 now and concentrate on shouting at the golf. :))
gone for Tai Woffinden for the Grand Prix @ 7/2

Speedway fan then Gollob? Been a while since I went to speedway races in Stoke wayyyyy back. Had a mate, Vic, who rode for Halifax in the 60s absolute nutter he was but what a bloke.
Just seen the leaderboard and was surprised to see Molinari up there. Thought he'd missed the cut as i couldn't find him when i last looked. Only £2.50 e.w. on him @ 28/1 but i go into the final day with 2 possibles, not one. :-)
Excellent ken I had another bet on speith @6/1 £5 that may cover my losses
Good luck, Volty, but only if neither of mine wins :-)
The open could go any way ken so many in with a shout
Not opening a new thread for this as it's still part of yesterday's discussions :-) Been having a little look at the prices for the 2 ball pairings for the final round of the open and, having done a few footy bets, had £3.60 left in my 365 account. "No good sitting there" i thought, so i've done the following 'fun' bet;

MOLINARI v Woods, SPEITH v Schauffle, KISNER v Chappell, Z JOHNSON v Fleetwood, McILROY v Kuchar, NOREN v Simpson, ROSE v Cook and FINAU v Lambard.

Bit of a 'gut feeling' bet rather than a studied one, but at least it may give me a day long interest and, if successful, will return approx £351.

Morning Ken. My hopes for the winner were severely dented with a double bogey. May have a look at the pairings market in half an hour or so. Looks like a bet for involvement, as it pans out, as you say.
Question Author
Done a 6 game match up the winners to be. Alex Noren, Zach Johnson, Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Kuchar, and Danny Willet. All six gives me a tidy £204.
Fingers, toes, legs and eyes crossed that none catch my chap. :-/
My total bets on the Open came to about £31 - £35. Francesco Molinari just won me £89 so £50 odd in pocket. Like a breath of fresh air :-)

Nice one Ken. A great afternoons golf as well. I have been busy outside giving the tubs and pots a feed, but diving into the kitchen to keep tabs on the Grand Prix and Golf. Bleedyn hot here. I have been out all afternoon in my undercrackers pouring spritzers over my head. Haha. " She who must be obeyed" was mortified when I stepped out in boxers and flip flops. But I caught her ogling me when I stooped down. :))
What a vivid imagination you must have, Togo :-) :-) :-)
