I know you should lie wine bottles on their side for storage but how should you store champagne and Prosecco bottles?

same way, a room around 50F 10c all year around is ideal......
Only wine with real cork needs to be on it's side....
store in a cool, dry place and on it's side in a wine rack. Not that I have ever stored Champagne for long, as I always find some excuse to pop it open!

i know someone who bought two bottle od champers when his daughter was born and stored it upright. When she was 21 he opened it and found the cork had shrunk. I was foul.
johnny37: 21 years ago it will of been real cork. Nowadays you'll be lucky to get a real cork.
No temperature fluctuations and keep it out of light. Despite some folks proclaiming that Champagnes can be kept for decades these are the exceptions rather than the rules so just drink them :)
Who stores champagne? We just buy a bottle when the occasion calls for it and then we drink it.

I prefer to drink it and therefore store mine internally.
