Hi,M doughter has just bought a V reg Ford KA. The offside front indicator bulb appears to be intermitent. Does this sound like a bad connection/ rusty holder and are the bulbs/ holder easy to replace?

Hi mcfc, I had the exact same problem with my Y reg KA a few weeks ago and the fix was easy. I simply relaced the bulb myself with a bulb from Halfords. Open the bonnet and you can access the bulb holder by turning it and pulling it out. You can then take out and replace the bulb. It is located on the side of the headlamp housing. The owners manual shows you a diagram but it straightforward.
This would be the easiest and cheapest thing to try first. Good luck.
My friend says it sounds like a bad earth, and should just clip in (holder)

thanks guys I'll get out the sand paper and clean up the earthe and thenmaybe a new bulb.
Sound like a bad connection. Carefully spray the bulb holder with WD40 (don''t let it get into the headlamp unit) and refit the bulb. Tesco Extra sell a halogen H7 bulb kit (dipped main beam, tail light, brake light, indicator light, fuses etc.) for about 7 which is good value.
