These goals are great to watch, but technically they're not that amazing. They see the goalie off his line and smack it.

Cupid, leave Yont alone!
Question Author
That's what Mr T said, ludwig! Are you a Spurs supporter?
I agree ludwig, always great to see though.
Sorry Yilly and Yont ;-) xx
Say that with more sincerity, cupes ;-)
I'm very, very, very, very, very sorry ;-(
Thats better.

I'm not really a supporter of anyone tilly. I just reckon if you can kick a ball a certain distance, as any pro footballer can, then you've got a chance of scoring a goal like that. It's more a goalkeeping error than anything.
Question Author
It was still a great goal though. Not many players take that sort of opportunity, do they?
No they don't, Yilly. They usually come from mid field supremo's though.
Question Author
You have blinded me with science now, Yont! Whaaaaaaaat?
Yilly, in football you have defenders, midfield players and strikers. Some midfield players are very accurate with their passing of the ball ( even at distance ) to strikers usually. However when an opportunity arises such as the one with Stoke yesterday a good midfield player spots that the opposition goalie is of their line and will use their accuracy and powerful shot to put the ball over the goalies head and into the back of the net.
Question Author
Ah! I see, thanks for that, Yont. Got it now. So still a great goal, then?
Yes it was, Yilly.
Question Author
Up the Potters then!

I am a Port Vale supporter, really.
I know you are, Yilly. Did you live close to the ground or is it that dad is a
What happened there ?.

or is it that dad is a Vale supporter ?.
Question Author
Dad is a Vale supporter. He used to take me to all the home games. I 'support' Stoke because it's Stoke!
I see, Yilly. ( thats pretty much why my son is a Villa fan ).
