about an hour ago 2 Lancasters flew overhead, so low you could count the rivets, why do you never have a camera ready? Perhaps I should keep my phone in my pyjama pocket, I did once open the door in my pyjama's, not everyone has a door in theirs.

I know, Baza....no camera when the Vulcan went over here..... :-(

Knocker or bell on the door?
Wish I could see them, baza. Where was this ?.
I think they are doing lots of flying this summer.....so a good chance of seeing them I hope...x

east essex, they flew from south ( over Thames estuary) north then veered west towards Southend airport. As they were so low I thought they may be landing there.
I have a portcullis in my pyjamas.
Thanks baza, hope I get to see them in my neck of the woods sometime. Bet those Merlins sounded terrific.
Question Author
the noise of those 8 engines shook the house and Mrs. B out of bed saying "what the ............."
LOL, she wasn't complimentary of the Merlins then, baza.
Ointment, Shoota?..x

I have googled the Lancaster programme for this year....they will be at Sywell tomorrow which is just up the road from me.... a good chance I will see them....so thanks for the nudge, Baza....x

gness, `anytime you want a nudge.......
Ooooo...best offer for....a long time.....☺
I can't wait, they'll be coming here to the Bournemouth airshow in couple of weeks. Seeing the single old lady gives me a lump in my throat, seeing two will probably bring on a full on sob.
Question Author
have seen the full set of BBMF at airshows but 2 Lancasters together, what a sight to stir emotions, or am I just getting old.
Be emotional, Baza......they warrant it....x
a lancaster flew over stoke last saturday...what a stirring sight....
They went over here while I was gardening. What a wonderful sight and sound.
NW Kent.
We have the full BBMF for 3 or 4 days every year and as I live halfway between the seafront where they display and the airport where they fly from when they are here i get some great views. I usually get a few low level fly pasts over the house by them and the reds, sometimes the Vulcan too if it's airworthy which sadly it's not been a couple of the years. I like to catch very glimps I can as the old girls won't be about too much longer.
Ratty.....I'm on the side of an open view hill near Sywell so I get some lovely displays.....

I did see a Vulcan earlier this year.....magnificent!
Imagine a thousand-bomber raid...
I'm a bit jealous Gness unless I go down to the beach my views mainly involve a cricked neck, although being surrounded by mainly bungalows I do have quite a bit of sky to look at.
