Anyone know which relegated club that has RETURNED to the top flight after the longest abscence? (not a club that has never been in top flight for longest time)

I'm going to plump for my own club, Bristol City. We were relegated from the top division in 1911 and later got promoted in 1976 - a difference of 65 years, that will take some beating!

If Cardiff City get promoted they'll beat Bristol City's "record" Mark...They have been out of the top flight for 82 years.
The way this QPR saga is going who knows,they could get promoted automatically.
