AS the C of E still holds a lot of power in U.K even though its attendances are way down (see the news section)

is it time for islamic priests to starh getting seats in parliament?

when will islam be the biggest religion in the uk and when will islam be given a place in arliament are very different questions.

what do you really want to know, do you just need some scaremongering facts about islam taking over the world?

firstly where if any in my post is there any hint of scaremongering?
Do you know what religion/belief I have? (incidentally i hate all of them equally!)
So where that came from I have no idea!
My question was just pointing out that a religion that is generally distrusted by westerners is soon going to be the most prominent and even though we all pretend that we have good 'christian' values no one really practises christianity by going to a church.
so will people accept the fact that islam should have the same if not more seats in the house of lords than our C of E representitives?- in the sense of fairness?

no anger from me sheman, and i am also at a loss where religion is concerned, though not enough to hate anyone specifically i spose. there is motion potentially to introduce voting to the house of lords, which might well lead to the removal of the spritual lords. along with a few other priveleged old duffers clinging on to some of their power as well i would hope.

the voice of islam used to be via links with the MCB but I think all ties were broken earlier this year after one of their leaders apparently told people to be violent to israel. not sure if thats changed since (the ties that is, not the muslim view of israel).

The Church of England does NOT get seats in Parliament, those are elected. Unless you're talking about the House of Lords, where there are 26 seats given to Bishops and Archbishops. Their influence (of 746 peers in total) is minimal.
