Gehenna was a rubbish dump just outside the South-East walls of Jerusalem wasn't it?
Actually Gehenna is a place not far from Jerusalem where Israelites used to sacrifice their children. Thus it became to mean a place of torment or hell.
i did a ouija board once and it said I was going to die in the year 2006 in a flood. Well I did! You cant get any more proof than that
Ouija boards are not something to 'play' with. I don't know how they work, but they do - and they are dangerous. Leave them alone.
Watch Darren Brown's show here

He has a brilliant "seance" with a table flying about the stage to the complete bewilderment of the guy from the audience.

These things were tricks 150 years ago and they're still tricks today
Ok, so what if it spelt Sheol? Or Hinnom? Or Jahannum? Or Hades?

Would you have understood what the spirit meant then?

All seems a bit pointless if they are going to spell out foreign words dunnit.
Are you trying to pull my leg?
Not Octavious, kitesurfer.
What happens if the spirit can't speak English or is illiterate?

Jake, any good magician can replicate the effects of these things - but that's no proof that they are all bogus.
They only send English spirits, it wouldn't make any sense to send, say, a French spirit to an English seance, it would all be gobbledygook.
Then I imagine you get gobbledegook, or foreign words, Ethel.
Oo-er, bodylice. Did you read my mind - or did I read yours? Spooky. :o)
Well, why did it spell GEHENNA I hear you cry? It's obvious, only one person present knew what the word meant, and that proved that nobody was pushing the glass. As it turned out he was wrong about Gehenna (he thought it was a rare disease) but that wasn't the point, and we were well-impressed.
Yes naomi - spooky - that is really truly spooky.
I went to a seance once and the medium asked - Is there anybody there? - and a deep voice replied - No.
wot a lot of cobblars.
Oooooooooops, sorry - I never sent that!
When people say they do work. What does that mean?

That they do work by convincing the people present that their minds are open and gullible to coarse trickery?
terambulan - I hope you realise that my previous post was a joke!
