I think it's absolutely shocking and shameful that police officers are members of the BNP. I have written to the party telling them that if these people are not removed immediately they will lose my vote.

lol i like it................................
Why are you shocked? It doesn't mean that they can't do their job properly, just because of their personal beliefs. I'm quite sure that there are many misogynistic wife-beaters in the police, who still carry out their daily duties in the correct manner, even though they come into contact with women all the time during the course of their work.
No good writing to the party - they'll be thrilled to bits. Write to the PCC instead - police officers are not allowed join.
so are muslim police officers not allowed to join the islamic party of britain?

For gawd sake it was a joke.

He was feigning annoyance that a party he votes for (the BNP) has got police as members.

It is a bit like the joke Groucho Marx said when he was asked if he wanted to be a member of a classy golf club: "I refuse to be a member of any club that would have me as a member"

Some pople just cannot understand irony.
This question isn't about irony though, its about coppery.
TBH the police, more than anyone, see on a day-to-day basis the negative effects of immigration and get the brunt of this far too often. I can see why they'd WANT to join.
very good, Octavius.

I just felt someone should acknowledge it.
is the list still on the net?
stokemaveric, I think it's just a police ruling - serving officers are not allowed to join the BNP. I don't know about other political, ethnic or other organisations. You'd have to ask the police about membership of those. Not that I rate very highly your chances of getting an honest answer, if indeed you get an answer at all.
So now the police officer has been suspended.

etc etc.

There are other organisations if you're hot under the collar about immigration.

The BNP are vicious scum - end of story

Vicious scum jake? I don't support them but I don't think ALL their supporters fall into this bracket. Strange how you never apply that description to real vicous scum like these:
