I don't want to hear no rhetoric. What I'm saying is, should you, as a sane minded person, be allowed to take a mind altering substances for your personal enjoyment? Or not? Please, no mention of addiction or drug crime as in my opinion it is not a true reflection of overall drug use.

How on earth can you expect to get fair answers if you have already rejected the obvious. Well, you're gonna get it anyway.

Only an idiot would consider a person who takes mind altering narcotics for enjoyment sane.

Absolutely! as long as you don`t annoy or hurt anyone else. Went to a Pink Floyd concert once where a great number of us were chemically enhanced, I can tell you nothing will ever come close to that night ....ever! Now pardon me while I roll me a cone.

Ok I won't mention that to legalise drugs would be to rob the gangs of their income.

I'd say there's more occasional than the stats ever show, going by what I've seen.

I meant occasional users there.

Perhaps you could explain your deep and considered reasoning behind this statement, wildwood - or maybe it was just a gut reaction based on received opinion?
Question Author
By your reasoning wildwood half of the country is insane.
you should be free to consume whatever you like as long as you dont hurt anyone or rob anyone to do it.
No, because once taken, your not fully in control of yourself, and can be a danger you yourself, and others.
As with booze, Lonnie.

Should that be forbidden as well?
Do you also reject the research showing that a sizable number of people using these develop psychosis and all the personal and social issues that that entails not to mention the NHS cost?
Smoking, eatty fatty foods and boxing all have major, long-term health implications and cost the NHS money. All are legal.

Quinlad,
I'm a moderate drinker, and in control all the time, I don't take drugs, but just supposing, tomorrow, I take a dose of ie, Cocaine, you tell me, am I likely to be 100% in control of my senses?.
if you've never taken cocaine then how can you judge? until you know what your talking about please refrain from talking about drugs. the worst drug on this planet has to be alcohol, how many millions of people and families are affected by this legal and socially acceptable drug?
Question Author
I'm aware of lots of drug users, all work, and aren't a burden on any health system. Also Lonnie, what are you so worried about your senses. I would say not having control of them for an evening is part of a good nights craic. If you are worried about your actions then don't do drink or drugs and I don't mind if you do or don't. But I know what I can handle and I should be allowed to do so.
