It seems that most of the Christian denominations revere the cross and place it in special places in their churches. It has become a symbol of the belief - though the fish is coming back into vogue too. Question is this - if, as they believe, Jesus ever does make a comeback, will he be pleased to see another cross? If it was me, I'd probably avoid them like an aracnaphobic avoids spiders!

If there ever was such a person and as you said Whicky, he'd make a comeback; Apart from making jokes about putting him(Jesus) up for the night (sorry all Christians) the idea of him returning would severely undermine the whole basis for his demise in the first place. He died for our sins supposedly and nothing really has changed apart from having so many factions of the same belief or variations on a theme to entice those who feel the need to follow something based on a story.
And God said," Sorry my son, they didn't get the message the first time".
Me too Wicker - who'd want to be reminded of that?! I think if he saw what men had made of his mission, he'd be absolutely appalled.
Been watching Bill Hicks by any chance?

Strangely...no. Never seen him, just a thought that came up during a long car journey when I passed a church with a large crucifix outside, and a message on the board that read something about a second coming...!
Ah. He had a very funny routine about precisely this issue, saying it would be like going up to Jackie Onassis with a rifle pendant on and saying, 'Just thinkin' of John, Jackie, just thinking of John...'

Now that's funny.

I was eating a mint - you just made me choke!
Waldo, that's brilliant! How funny! (Hope you're ok Whicker!).
