Lets say hair is found on something. The police find it and take a swab sample from a suspect. How long does it take for them to match it? Hours, days?

In mega urgent cases (serial killer/rapist etc. on the loose) then 24 hours. In non urgent cases then typically 2-3 weeks, give or take. 'In between' cases then dates are usually discussed between the officer dealing, the Crown Prosecution Service and the laboratory. (The Forensic Science service, Forensic Alliance, etc.)
