Muslims and Jews
With all the furore about these cartoons of Mohamed, there's one, among others, in an Arab paper that depicts Anne Frank in bed with Hitler, now, as Jew, would I be entitled to a day of anger over this?.
On a more serious note, if there are any Muslims on this site, and i'm not talking about the moderates, maybe you could tell me why you hate, and would like to kill me, I am British, born and bred, and have never said or done anything against Muslims.
I work for a large company, that employs people of all colours, races and religions, and I work, very amicably with the Muslim element, but we have one chap, who told me that they are taught to hate Jews in the Mosque, Why?.

Islamic papers regularly have anti Jewish cartoons, a clear case of sauce for the goose if you ask me. Islam has never had much of a sense of humour.
Muslim extremists want to kill us because we are the "Infidel" we are infesting the planet with our western ways. They want to impose world wide Sharia law, either you are with them or you are fair game for extermination, there is no in between situation.
Yeah of course you would Lonnie, my wife is regularly offended by the extremist Muslim stance on Jews, however she recognises that it's certainly not all Muslims as we have lots of very good Muslim friends, and that acting like a thug and burning the Saudi Embassy is really not the best way to get her point across.
She also recognises with regret that the Israeli's behave in an equally aggressive and unacceptable way sometimes over the issues in Palestine.Everyone is capable of being an ********, it's just that most people see it's not the way forward, but the ones you always hear about are the flag burners and the placard wavers and the chanters because it sells newspapers.
Not once when we've had our Muslim freinds round to dinner has a film crew turned up and covered our little half Catholic half Jewish kids playing with their little Muslim ones it on the front of the Daily Mail.
As intelligent people can't we all just please stop letting these extremists and Newspapers pull our strings?
Yeah Lonnie you are entitled to go to the embassy of the offending country whose newspaper printed the offending material and burn it to the ground if you want (after all it is perfectly acceptable behaviour in said countries). You can also run about the streets inciting hatred against the muslim world and you wont get arrested either. Unless of course you are a member of the BNP in which case you will be hung drawn and quartered.
What riles me is that ordinary peace abiding muslims will end up bearing the brunt of this as the minority of extremists will alienate the public against them.
Yes the cartoons were offensive and wrong but their hysterical reaction to it is just hypocritical.
Loosehead, as you say, its the ones subscribing to Sharia law that want to kill everyone else that doesn't, including other Muslims.
Noxlumas, I agree that at times, Israels behaviour, and that of solitary Jewish Israeli's doesn't help the situation. I also have friends that are Muslim, at home, and at work, but to give another example other than the one in my post, a Muslim woman, again, at work, when she found out I was Jewish, said 'so we are enemies then', and has refused to speak to me since. Its this sort of behaviour that i'd like an answer to, and I fully agree, that as intelligent people, we should be able to live, work and play together. I think you, your family, and your Muslim friends should be commended.
nedflanders, I totally agree with you that it is the moderates Muslims that will bear the brunt of any backlash.
Unfortunately, despite the obvious racism of your co-worker, unless she is a superior or has actively sought to exclude you from social activities or through action/inaction, hindered your career progression, it may be difficult to make the charge stick.
The woman you refer to is a fool. I work with a number of South Africans - it would be like me refusing to speak to them because of something (apartheid) they aren't responsible for.

What could Lonnie's employer possibly do? Make the co-worker talk to her on a regular basis? Only if the employee is found guilty of open hostility which takes the form of racism, can an employer do something.

sp1814 - I see your point, but where I work, there's no way anyone could get away with saying to a co-worker, 'you're jewish/black/chinese/muslim, that means we're enemies', and then stop talking to them without at the very least being hauled in and asked to explain themselves. Most places have clearly defined anti-racism policies in place, breaching of which would most probably constitute a sackable offence.
Best way of needling a twt like that is to get them sacked.
well I have just had my Shepherds pie and it was fantastic. I opted out of the peas and had baked beans actually mixed in with the meat. Does that make me a bad man? I may have the same tomorrow, or put the other half in the freezer once it cools down. ermmm what a cunundrum.

I think too much press and personal time is given to Muslim Extremists.I personally would give them a swift kick up the ass and tell them either to live with it or go somewhere else where thay dont have to demonstrate against the west whilst enjoying the benefits.Simple.
I am now becoming increasingly p!ssed off with the pussy footing and I daresay the decent people who follow the Muslim Faith are as well as they are making their lives a misery as well.Rant over
