Earlier this week, I made a rare visit to a McDonalds for lunch and I noticed a large free-standing perspex leaflet holder standing outside in the pouring rain, full of JW stuff. Inside, in some seats closest to the door were some obviously JW-looking people. Perhaps I don't go to McDonalds often enough but I have never seen that before !

And today I saw something similar outside my local Lidl ! On both occasions they appeared to be having no takers but I did wonder if this meant that we will not be plagued so often in our own houses on a Saturday morning ?

Same as 'poor' kids getting dragged to Weatherspoons so their mums can have a gossip and a bottle of pink plonk.....
Some people imagine that there is no God who will call them to account. (Ps. 53:1) Others imagine that God is not interested in us, so there is no point in our being interested in him. Still others feel that belonging to a church will make them friends of God. All these people are spiritually dead.
Totally agree with your last two sentences goodlife
'Some people imagine there is no God'

The irony - absolutely priceless!
goodlife, you belong to a church.

After your experience at the Colonel's place ( which you probably exaggerated a bit ) ; i'm surprised that you ventured into a McDonalds establishment
The kids are part of their armoury. No one is going to tell them to FO when there are smartly dressed kids there.
Why would you want to tell them to F off anyway? Would a simple polite "no thank you" kill you?
i had a couple knock on my door, we had a nice chat and on their way they went.
I didn't say I would, others might.
A lot of them don't accept a simple" no, thank you" B00, I have, on two occasions, had them shouting at me through the letterbox. Goodlife will no doubt come on and say these weren't Jehovah witnesses but if that's true why did they leave copies of the watchtower?
Its not uncommon Jackdaw, if you google knobs and knockers, loads of brass hardware suppliers come up.
Are you on the right thread here?
Sorry, yes. A post of mine yesterday.
I'm always polite to them, as they are to me and I get it's part of their religion to have to witness and they are harmless.

I've noticed far more about the city centre and surrounds recently, stood with the Perspex leaflet holder, they never seem to bother anyone though and aren't a noise nuisance like some of the Christian and Muslim preachers, out and about with sound systems and megaphones. I do like the Hare Krishna's though.
Well as far as I know the JW religion has never mass murdered anyone for not converting, hounded other religions until they converted, beheaded, blown people up all in the name of their God. Would anyone here tell a C of E vicar or a Catholic priest to 'f' off if he came knocking on the door looking for donations for the Christmas Fayre ?
Do you not know of all those who claim to be Christian, only Jehovah’s Witnesses take the preaching of the good news seriously. They form the only group in which every member feels a personal obligation to approach his neighbor on a regular basis in order to talk to him about God’s purposes. Why is this? Because each Witness feels that, as a Christian, he must be a footstep follower of Christ.(mark 13:10)
Morning Goodlife, lovely day. Enjoy your walk. :o)
Thank you naomi. (Colossians 3:15)
