So says leading evolutionary biologist Simon Conway Morris. If it transpires that he’s right, what impact will it have on the Abrahamic religions? Are the people of Earth really special, or have those who brought us ‘the word’, Jesus, Mohammed, and Charles Taze Russell included, somehow done the rounds to spread their respective messages to every other inhabited planet in the universe?

David Icke( !) said that aliens are all around us. They look normal but they're actually "lizard people". He named many famous people, government leaders, world leaders as a lizard person in human guise. He didn't include himself in that group. !
Ah yes...David Icke, where is he now?
I think at the minute he's sloughing his skin. He won't be away long.
Personally, I find it difficult to imagine how evolution could screw it up on such a grand scale . . . twice in the same universe?
When I witness some of the shenanigans members of our species pull off sometimes I catch myself thinking, "There must be a God!" . . . albeit an imaginary one.
Why have our leaders been portrayed as gods, untouchables and sex kings by the criminal media yet David Icke the revolutionary has been portrayed as an angry loner, weirdo psychopath?

Zacs, //Not sure why you've put this into religion rather than science.///

Because the question relates to religion – not to science.
It is perfectly possible to imagine a world where the pressure of the atmosphere is very much greater than it is on Earth. Creatures would have to have very thick limbs, maybe six instead of four, and would probably be much closer to the ground than we are. Such a world could be inhabited by something like very broad heavy 6-legged lizards. Alternatively, a low-pressure world might give rise to intelligent birds or insects.
Morris is a knowledgeable guy with an impressive CV but I wonder if this is a theory where you might see plgs fly. Well, he did win the Trotter Prize in 2007!

The only planet in our solar system capable of supporting life , as we know it , is the Earth . Therefore if ( and it's a big "if" ) there were aliens out there they would have had to come from another "solar system" . This means that contact between us and them would be almost impossible . The closest star is 4.5 light years away and I don't know if that has life-supporting planets . The fastest we can send messages at is the speed of light and as for physical travel , we can't get anywhere near that speed .

Supposing there was a planet , say 50 light years away , and we managed to find a common communication medium , and I sent a message , say , " God made us in his image..." - and 100 yrs later I got the reply - " No Ben , you've got it all wrong , God made US in his image....".....

Basically if (...big if ...) God had created another life form then he made sure we would be too far apart to ever make contact with each other - the only part of the universe that we can realistically contact is our own solar system .

So to cut a long story short , the Abrahamic religions would not be affected .

Are the people of Earth really special ? - I'll answer that rhetorically - Ask the people of Mercury , Venus , Mars , Jupiter ...etc. ... whether or not the people of Earth are special and you'll have your answer.....
I asked Goodlife this a few weeks back still waiting on an answer.
Don't hold your breath, Eddie...
David Icke is still going strong and he has the answer to ISIS now!

Atalanta , that's a very interesting answer , in a very high pressure atmosphere would water ( the key to life ) be able to evaporate enough to form rain to "rinse" the planet clean . Also in a very low pressure atmosphere would all the water evaporate away ?...... Water is the key to life and the Earth is a remarkable equilibrium system .

In any case , this planet would have to be in another solar system .
They'll all have British passports.
@ Benhilton

Would you claim to have a better understanding than Mr Morris on this matter?
no
agchristie if you disagree with my answer at 22.42 then feel free to take it apart . That's what this forum's here for .

benhilton, the complexities of potential communication between the inhabitants of various planets, however distant, isn’t the issue. As far as I am aware people of religion on this planet consider themselves to be somehow unique in the eyes of their god, but the question is, if their god exists and if this man is right, are they really unique in their god's eyes – or are they simply fantasising.

Oops. Add a '?' to the end of that.
