This is all hokum, Jesus died in India.
Eddie, the term ‘immaculate conception’ doesn’t refer to the alleged virgin birth of Jesus, but it’s a common error. It refers to the birth of Mary, his mother. Although conceived in the usual way she was destined to become the mother of the sinless Jesus and therefore God intervened rendering her soul devoid of the original sin that the rest of us are allegedly burdened with from birth. God(?) knows where the church gets all this nonsense from – but it promulgates it as ‘fact’ and people believe it.

Hypognosis, // two of the three witnesses to the Lourdes apparition died of this influenza, while still in their childhood.//

I think you’re referring to the apparitions witnessed by three children at Fatima in Portugal. St Bernadette alone saw apparitions of Mary at Lourdes, who introduced herself as ‘the Immaculate Conception’.
Khandro, //Jesus died in India.//

That’s a distinct possibility. Had Jesus survived the crucifixion, which I think he did, he’d have been pretty silly to remain in the area. He wouldn’t have lasted long. I also think it’s possible that he was educated in the east which would not only explain aspects of his philosophy, but also the gap in the story from age 12 to the beginning of his ministry. All speculation of course, but it’s an intriguing puzzle.
@naomi

Thanks for the correction. I regularly embarass myself with the way my memory retains certain bits of information (eg god is mean to kids who witness miracles) but casually throws away highly salient details, such as where this all happened, then, when drawn upon, fills in the hole with a hasty patch (eg what's a famous site everyone's heard of?) Careless.

:O)
How refreshing Naomi to read your contributions, pointing out the erroneous statements made re" The Immaculate Conception" and the " Lourdes" misconception,

I can only wish that all the Atheists/Agnostics who constantly write rubbish on this subject, were as well informed as you are.

I thank you sincerely for this.
James, brother of Jesus is mentioned by Josephus, probably as close as you're going to get (that is, about 70 years out). http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josephus_on_Jesus
Hypognosis, you’re welcome.

SirOracle. thank you.
You are welcome Naomi. Although we do not sing from the same hymn sheet I certainly acknowledge your cognoscence of the subject, especially that of the New Testament.

A worthy adversary indeed. !! :-)
SirOracle,.Thank you again. ‘Adversary’ is a word that carries multiple connotations - so the smile following your final sentence is pleasing. ;o)
Sherlock and Moriarty !!!? ;-)
Haha! Ahhh ... that undisturbed dust I perceive on your philosophy..... good evening, Moriarty! :o)
Returning to OP for a moment. With regard to whether proof (artefacts) does anything to bolster faith, or hinder it, I've yet to come across a more enjoyable explanation than this, (might encourage Khandro to move HHGTTG up his reading pile).
