Skeleton's in the cupboard mikey and in this case skeletons in the bank and church.

We all have them!
He's apologised, so that's alright. Isn't it?
These merchant bankers have been under pressures and strains that we lesser mortals would buckle under. It's perfectly understandable.
Just your usual banker. Well, it rhymes with Banker
I wouldn't judge him.

These boys can afford cocaine.......us mortals can't.
fortunately there was someone there who was disgusted by his hypocrisy and filmed the whole thing - a happy coincidence indeed, but I too wonder if there isn't slightly more to this than meets the eye.

At least we now know where all the Co-op's profits went.
Wasn't dipping into the pharmaceutical supply once a doctor's perk? ;-)
£300 buys a fair amount of Colombian marching powder these days, even in London.

Not sure why you wouldn't judge him ummmmm. He is Methodist Minister and was the Chairman of a major bank...my bank for the record. He said he was "under pressure"..........oh well, that's OK then isn't it ?

As there is clear evidence that he committed a serious crime, I'm not sure why we shouldn't judge him, and I'm also not sure why he isn't being charged by the Police.
People do stupid things for various reasons. Unless I knew the reason for his stupidity I wouldn't pass judgement.

I bet he's not the only chairman who's taken drugs.
"a two-day drug-fuelled gay orgy" - it seems he wasn't prepared to await the paradise in the life to come, then.

JNO...where did the "two day drug fuelled gay orgy"...it wasn't in the BBC News.
Why was he Chairman of a major bank ? That's a good question. Digging around in Google hasn't revealed any particular career in finance or banking. Wikipedia has only Paul Flowers, former defender for Colchester United, so it appears that our one hasn't been of particular note.

It looks as though he has been a career politician at local level , the labour Party and the Co-Op being closely linked, and a Methodist minister.

mikey, it was in the Mail report to which the BBC item itself linked.

FredPuli, some biograpahical detail here:

Method actor maybe ?
the police have to actually investigate before laying charges; they can't just run out and nick anyone who appears on YouTube. Anwyay, they are

Thanks, jno. So appointing him was like making someone a High Court judge when they had never practised and never passed the Bar Finals exam, and that some 40 years before. He didn't pass the bankers' exam because he gave up before completing part two, the lure of the church proving too strong, and even he concedes that what he then knew, such as it was, was out of date for modern banking. Just the man to run a major bank. I wonder how he got the job?
So if he is not the only chairman to have taken drugs that makes it alright? Tosh!
