Are there cats in heaven ?

My granddaughter's cat was sick , nothing serious , but she asked me if it dies will it go to heaven. Now I don't believe in heaven , hell and all that nonsense but if I'm wrong what should my answer have been ?

If all life is of equal value then the answer must be yes but if it is yes where does one draw the line ? Does it include bacteria ?

If the answer is no then who and what goes there ?

Maybe the Buddhists have got it right that there is a finite number of life forms
but we keep getting resurrected so last time you might have been a bug and next time you could be a bacterium and then a bird and so on. I wonder if you could become a cabbage ? It is a life form .

My answer was yes to make her feel better .

You can choose to believe this or not but it happened. About a year or more after my Dad died, I went with some friends to see a medium, I went for the giggles, however, the medium knew nothing about me not even my name, but she described my late father and told me he was holding a small white terrier dog and was showing her to me - our dog died about 6 months after he did. As I said the medium knew nothing about me or my family but I'm sure there is more out there than we know about or understand.

tastymorsel, Naomi here right on cue. It might surprise you to learn that I think it's possible that living creatures possess a 'soul', and therefore, in answer to a child's question, I may well have gone with modeller's answer (although I wouldn't have said that the cat is now in 'heaven').

Now, why don't you answer the question insetad of passing the buck?

Of course there is otherwise what is the point of us being here.I don't know the answer but I do know that when I talk to God I get a feelingf of comfort and also HE HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN.i feel sorry for anbone who doesn't believe in GOD.Oh I see Naomi has joined in before I have finished
