Do you thank anything for your life?

Believe what you will about a creator, God or whatever you like, the fact is that we are all here on earth. We all get up in the morning, spend our days doing what we do, and go to bed. It's a cycle that has been repeated and will be repeated all our lives.

So my question is, how do you feel about the fact that you have been given life? Do you feel any thanks towards anybody or anything, or do you simply think I'm here and I'll go. I took care of myself from after I left home and that is that.

I'd curse it normally, except that it occurs to me that if I opted to come here, it must have been worse where I was previously.
i think that i am here, i want to make the most of it by being a good person, helping people and ill leave when it is my time :)
My Parents , without them I wouldn't be here. :-)
well said:)
Thank you Sith
Do you thank anything for your life?

probably my parents would be the obvious choice there ;)

No. Why would I?
No I don't, I would thank my parents but considering I was adopted in the sixties and have never met them or even know who they are, I don't see that I have anything to thank them for. I'd thank my step parents for bringing me up though!
I accept that having arrived here I should really do my best for me and my kin because it is only a very transient existence. B.
I imagine if I ever have life saving surgery then yes, I would thank someone. ALthough I'd rather like to never have to be in the position where my life is in danger!
No I dont thank anybody for giving me life, I thanked my Mother for being a wonderful Mother but I wasn't conceived for my benefit it was for my parents benefit.
I don't think many people actually go up to their parents and say 'Thank you for my life' but during your life there may be times when you do thank people for your life. This could be a doctor or just someone who you feel has made your life worth living.
I thank my parents for bringing me up correctly – chastising me when I was being a little s**t and praising me when I did well. They sent me off to Sunday school and didn't complain when I told them I thought that God probably didn't exist (Dad doesn't believe, Mum does). They encouraged me to read widely and to follow my own path.

Life is a gift for some and a curse for others. Rather like another question in the R&S section of AB, life it is neither good nor evil. It just is.
I thank Guglielmo Marconi for inventing radio. Without him I wouldn't be here!
(My parents met each other when working at the Marconi radio factory in Chelmsford).

Well it makes a great deal more sense than thanking some mythical 'creator'!
I thank chemicals, biology and chance, oh and maybe someone divine ;-)
I am just thankful in general to have experienced so much and still have time to experience and maybe input some more.
Lots of people have been given life by two loving people/parents but some have been brought into this world by mistake through a one night drunken stand or a 2 week holiday at home or abroad.

Whichever the case, you should appreciate the fact that you are here, so enjoy your time on earth and make the best of it!!!!
Yes, the entire universe is fill with cycles...Smaller cycles make larger cycles. The Creator made the heavens in cycles....Second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year, decade...etc are cycles...everything we comprehend are cycles...His soon return is a cycle Be ready Bro/Sis because He is returning for a prepared people for a prepared place.
before my mum had me, my brother and sister, she had 3 miscarriages...so there was a chance that none of us ever existed... but that is pure chance...it was pure luck that my sperm swam fastest on that day and at that moment...

i do not believe for one second that god sat about planning 'me' and made me happen...
