Arabic-English translation

I have a friend from Egypt,she was describing a person to me and said the word "Shahm"
neither of us can fins what it means in English..any help please.

Google just comes up with the word Sham or Shar.

in what context was she describing this person, personality, culture, looks, job....?

dunno but Shams means 'sunny' which could be used if decribing a disposition?
You never know it might not be Arabic at all, may be she said "shame". As Ankou said that what context it was in.

Shahm is a name. Are you sure she wasn't just telling you the person's name?
That thought occurred to me too Naomi, sounds more like that might be it.
Well it's definitely a name, Society, so I can only imagine that's the answer.
