I am in a kind of 'never meet your heros situation?'

Everyone thinks my dad is great, funny, kind, hard working. My next door neighbour who recently fell out with her only son, said she wishes he was more like my dad.

But i have to live with him and can't wait to move out. (please noone complain that i'm moaning, you don't have to live with this man)

~He always complains he has no money, yet buys at least £15 of food that is unecessary each week, then wastes half the meat - another ten pound at least, by not using the left overs. Yet he smokes and must spend £15-20 a week on that, so we could save about £50 a week (he tries to give up but he admitted that he doesn't really want to, but says he could easily if he wanted to)

~He is such a fussy eater, its rediculous, and saturday is normally the only night i get to have rice, noodles or pasta, and if i get a big pack of noodles i have a stir fry instead of a proper roast on a sunday. But the rest of the week its potatoes and rarely anything else.

~He took no notice in my school work, and didn't even know what gcse subjects i took, he thought i'd taken art instead of maths! But when i got asked to stay behind for revision, for my up coming exams, he told me off for getting a detention, which it wasn't, but he thought i got it because i weren't paying attention in lessons and needed to catch up.

~My oldest brother is 24 years older than me, and i think he thinks that he can bring me up the same way that he did him and my other siblings, but times have moved on, until i'm eighteen the only boy thats allowed round, is my gay friend, who i've known since we were 8.

So am i living in a never meet your heros situation, and if people had to live with him all of the time, would they feel the ame way about him do you think?

But i bet its the ol' yorkshire men saying how one of them didn't have shoes and then the other one saying 'oh well i didn't have shoes and i had to walk 5 miles to school'
Teenage angst....don't you just love it!

How old are you Molly? 15? 16? 17? Get over yourself honey, because you know when people say to you 'you'll understand when you have kids of your own'..... It's true!
Then you'll realise that your dad is trying to do his best....how do you think he would feel if he read this? You behave like he's trying to kill you or something.
As for 'never meet your hero', I tell you something now....my dad was my hero....just wish that as well as telling him that I loved him, I'd told him that before he died last year.

To address your initial question; no you're not in a 'don't meet your hero(e)s situation. You're in a typical teenagers situation where your friends domestic set-ups seem far more attractive and appealling than your own.
This will also be true of ALL your friends..............
Instead of moaning about things, get up off your self-absorped teenagers backside and do somehting positive about it.

Wolf, he admitted infront of me once (when i was about 12), that he's done drugs before.
molly, you're your own person. you will turn out however you want to be.

stop moaning and blaming others.

He did drugs once.....big WOW's.

I did quite a few in my time.....

My best friends houses seem equally attractive as mine.

one, has a spoilt brat of an annoying 9 year old brother. He is sometimes upstaged by his other, slightly younger brother, but gets better grades than me and has two jobs, earning a total of £40 a week.

My other close friend, doesn't have much money, but she has a job aswell. And also only lives with her mum and her siblings but is always ahppy and her family welcoming.

But both got jobs easily as they live in the town and one lives a five minute walk from work and the other has a paper round which inlcudes their road.

he admitted it to me once, he probably did it several times, by the way he said it.
*tut*

*shakes head and walks away*

doubt it? why
Question Author
what makes you say that?
I see what you mean ummmm about her ignoring questions!!!

Molly do you read the news? You really don't seem to know how good you have it! Not hat I'm proud of it, but I too took drugs as a young adult.....think you'll find that a fair majority of people did. But I've also worked my backside off bringing up my kids as a single mother with a full time job....I'd love it if my kids ate more healthily, but they aren't interested, doestn't stop me from making my own healthy meals whilst they eat 'less veg'.
That's why I said she should write a blog. She's not interested in what we have to say.

Us....the people who have been there and done that...
Question Author
I don't have the means to make my own main meals though, if i did i'd be really healthy.

I have directly replied to several peoples posts.

If i have time, i watch the news, but normally i only see the trivialties of the anglia local news, burt i am aware of other stuff that goes on. And i know my life is better than many people's of my age, but i wasn't asking for your opinion on whether it is or not, i was asking if i'm in a never emet you hero situation, because other people think he's great and he acts completely different when we're out.
Question Author
But he's annoying to live with.
