At the moment my monitor is the original as supplied with 1024x768 resolution and the graphic card is original Rage Ultra 16MB memory.
I am considering upgrade to monitor with 1920x1080 resolution. Will I need to update the graphic card as well?
I do not play games requiring super graphic performance.
If I do need to update card can someone suggest inexpensive option

Your adaptor should be fine:

1920x1080 = 2073600
at 32 bit colour depth = 66355200 bits
= 8294400 bytes
= just under 8 megabytes
strictly speaking here....

((1920 * 1080) /8) *24 = 6220800 bytes required to run 24bit colour depth at 1920 * 1080

which is just short of 6mb

so in theory at least your card is capable of that resolution. However check the supported resolutions for the card, just because it's capable in theory doesn't mean the drivers will actually support it.

Thanks for the info.
In device manager the card is listed as Rage 128 Ultra GL AGP (Microsoft Corporation)
If I need updated drivers do I get them from Rage, Dell, Microsoft or the monitor manufacturer?
