Theory of Evoution proven by fundamentalist religion. The irony.
Maybe I think about this stuff too much, or maybe I just have too much time on my hands but today I was thinking about how, especially in America, there seems to be an ever more gradual move towards fundamentalist religions and I realised that it is down to the Theory of Evolution. My reason for thinking this is simply based on the facts. A few years ago, some people decide to live a little stricter in adherence with the bible, their offspring bring that form of thinking on a little more and so on and so forth in an evolutionary process, until it arrives at what we have today, and will surely continue to change slightly over more time. Ironic, don't you think.

In my opinion evolution equates to progress. Religious fundamentalism is growing, not only in America, but in other countries too. As for irony, yes it is ironic if you consider that we arrogantly assume we are becoming more civilised. Increasing religious fundamentalism is a retrograde step to human progress, and to civilisation.

That parents pass on their superstitious beliefs to their children has nothing to do with evolution. It is a totally different process because it involves intent. There is no plan or intent in the evolutionary process.

Clearly, in many instances, the human brain still hasn't evolved well enough to be capable of rational thought.

The rise of religion is due to having a welfare society that allows stupid to succeed. Stupid people breed faster than intelligent people and eventually dominate the society. One of them may even become the President of a powerful country.
The burden of the stupid eventually leads to the collapse of the society. This effect has driven the rise and fall of empires for eternity.
