Have you ever been routinely stopped, questioned or searched by the police? What was the experience like and how did it make you feel? It happened to me the other week. I was walking to the chip shop around 7pm and a couple of pigs stopped and searched me. When asked why they had chosen to stop me they replied "there have been a lot of burglaries in the area recently". As you can imagine I did not respond in a manner that would be repeatable on answerbank!!

They were doing their job.
You were being obstreperous.
|
|
|
Your willingness to view them as 'pigs' perhaps contributed ?
Were you searched or just questioned ?

|
|
Who were these pigs?
Pinky and Perky?

I wouldn't mind if I got stopped and searched. I've nothing to hide and if it helps the police then I'm all for it.

I think that by the sheer fact you refer to them as PIGS shows your utter dis-respect for our Police Force.
They do an almost impossible job in very difficult circumstances.. and I think if you have done nothing worng you have nothing to fear.
Get some respect for the people whose job it is to protect us all!

If you mean policemen.....I don't think they would have just stopped you and searched you....are they allowed to do that?
Somebody will probably come back and say yes now.....lol.

Sorry, I just have very little respect for the police due to bad experiences in the past. Including police brutality in my younger days.
Yes, they did search me.

I have put that link on my favourites page, and I will look at it later. There's lots I didn't know there.

I thought you having turned a new leaf in your life you would have forgiven them their early indiscretion.
Trying to gain opinions from others about police stop & searches, and then using the term ‘pig’ as a reference to those doing a job, is rather peremptory in my opinion.
You were lucky it was the police that stopped you and not some renegade thug or religious fundamentalist. At least the police are accountable.

You shouldn't tar the whole force with the same brush because of one bad apple in a very old barrel.
I seem to have run of clichés.

It has never happened to me, but then, I am white, and I live in a middle class area, so it wouldn't would it?
|
|
|
Not true, Andy-hughes. A white, very definitely middle classed lady pensioner acquaintance of mine has been stopped and searched during the day time.

With a name like yours they probably think you're a terrorist. Avoid South London tube stations if I were you.

I'm not surprised...............being arrested and imprisoned for committing criminal offences would leave a sour taste with anyone...........if they hadn't done it.............oh, I forgot you HAD........!

ive also been stopped and searched a few times by the filth just because i dress with a hip hip style and am from the hood. i usually give them as much abuse as i can without gettin arrested. i hate the filth.

From the hood!
What a laugh - we all live in the hood.

Jack - I don't know why you feel the need to bring up my past. Yes, I made mistakes when I was younger but I have turned my life around and now make a positive contribution towards my community.
Maybe if you had my experiences with the police you would understand why I refer to them as "pigs".
|
|
|
Ditto to B00 - and what's 'from the hood'?
Mani, if you treated the police with an element of respect, they will very likely reciprocate. Only yobs, petty criminals, and idiots adopt your attitude. It isn't smart, and you're never going to win with it. You have to grow up sometime.
