No, and I don't see why anyone should be.
I've a bit of a mouth on me and if I see anyone giving a nursing mum a hard time or funny looks in public I usually jump in and give 'em what for.

Yes. Surely they can breast feed out of the public eye? Quite why they feel anyone would want to witness that is beyond me.

Some say, "Well it's only natural". I don't disagree, but having a dump is natural too and I certainly wouldn't do that in public.

My -''Good on yer'' was meant for you.

Mothers are sacred.

Not at all. Babies need feeding dont they and there arent enough places to do that when mums are out. Its not the same as going to the loo, there are public lavatories for that situation.

I couldnt do it myself but dont see a problem with women doing it at all

Going to a toilet or a private area.

Say I was out and about and I needed a wee, I wouldn't just unzip and get on with it, I would find a suitable private area.

and they are hardly displaying anything. Mums do keep covered up to the point that many mums could feed and youd hardly notice they were doing anything more than given a nice cuddle to their child.

No offence meant, I'm just answering the question. I kind of figured the "good on yer" was intended for you.

OK squarebear. You're entitled to your opinion and I respect that.
Could I suggest next time you are out and about and feeling peckish, buy some food and sit in a public loo and eat it.

It's not as if a mum exposes her boobs when she's feeding! I used to drape a scarf over my shoulder and hardly anyone realised what I was doing.

A toilet seems pretty private to me. Many shops and buildings have public toilets. I'm not talking about the ones in the street full of grafitti that barely serve a purpose.

toilets are unsuitable for breastfeeding babies in my opinion, have you seen some recently? the word unhygenic is too kind
id rather find a quiet corner and feed my baby there, usually in a cafe.
yes its true their are not enough places designated for this.
as someone said when you are out and your little one needs fed- you feed it.

But more people are going to find breast feeding more offensive than eating. I very rarely eat in the street.

Breast feeding in public is not offensive.
What do people find offensive about it?
Toilets are not an acceptable place to be feeding a baby, they are too dirty and uncomfortable. Toilets are just a totally inappropiate place for feeding a baby. Who eats in toilets?

a toilet is not suitable.

Mothercare and the such do provide feeding rooms but they are few and far between. Even baby changing rooms are rarely big enough to get a buggy and baby into and have no seating.

It takes a while to feed a baby, mums need somewhere comfortable to feed.

You have answered the question though squarebear so I dont intend to come across as harassing you. Youre entitled to an opinion, some people do just find it embaressing to see.

squarebear what would yu do if you found yourself in that situation? (apologies i dont know your gender)

would you or your partner breastfeed your baby in public?

as suitably private areas are not always avalible.
what would be the best course of action you would take?

I am male (as you probably guessed) but if I wanted to do something which involved getting my "bits" out, I would ensure I was away from the public eye and if I couldn't find a suitable place then I would wait until I did.
