Prices going up nobody seems to doing anything

As prices are going up nobody seem to be doing anything about it - alot of people me included are getting angry that wages are not keeping up. Government doesnt seem to live on the same island called the UK as we do. What do other people think - have you found a protest group?

It's alright Gordon says inflation is low.

Oh, and the mass immigration that means I haven't had a pay rise in over 3 years is good for the economy.

World demand for resources is increasing due to population pressures. It is simply a case of supply and demand.

You should remember that as a part of the developed world you have always lived way above a globally sustainable standard of living and overconsumed all your life. Now billions of others in the developing world aspire to a fraction of your standard of living and they will compete for their share.

It is not reasonable to expect wages to automatically keep up unless you are in an industry where there is an undersupply of skilled labour.

Much worse is to come so you had better start getting used to it.

Never heard an employer use that one as an explanation before, Panic Button: "Sorry, you can't have a pay rise because there are more people in the country than there were before" :-)

the immigration isn't quite as mass as it sounds. In 2006 about 600,000 people arrived - but another 400,000 left. (The British are some of the world's most dedicated immigrants themselves.) I don't know how the rather modest rise of 200,000 can stop your pay rises, Panic Button - you sure your boss isn't having you on?
