I don't know if this is the correct place to put this but here goes!

This was the topic of conversation last night and it's kinda freaked me out a bit; My friend says "The Orion Prophecy says that the world will end in 2012". "Its magnetic field will completely reverse in one go. Earthquakes and tidal waves will destroy our civilization. The whole earth's population will perish in the apocalyptic events" I find this to be really scary! Has anyone else heard of this or is it a load of rubbish (he has this thing about winding me up). Do you think it could actually happen?

I asked this question on another site and they say it's not true but I'm still not convinced!

Geomagnetic reversal is a reality, but it's unpredictable so any kind of prophecy giving a date is most likely to be b0llox.

The earths poles do reverse every 500,000 years but I think its more a gradual thing than all in one go.

No, no, the world is going to end this year.
Pastor Lou Knee of the First Ohio Evangelical Church of Former-Day Saints has had a vision in which the Holy Virgin told him that the world will last for 6012 years. This is confirmed by the Synod of The We-Are-In Jesus Church of Pottius for which the number 6012 has been sacred since Ooay-bak. It is also the magic number of the disparate tribes of the Bah-Mi and Loo-Sin-Git in Central Africa.
To Judaeo-Christians the 6 stands for the number of days of the Creation and the 12 for the number of apostles. The zero stands for nothing.
So, since Archbishop Ussher told us that the earth was created at 12 noon on October 23 4004 BC, it follows that, 6012 years later, it will end at that time and date this year.
That gives Theland nearly 200 days to prepare his obsequious speeches of greeting to his God, and me to find a heavy asbestos suit.
