Church Steeples

Bearing in mind who's house a church is, and who creates lightning....................why do church steeples have lightning conductors?

because they are very tall
You'd think the Church would trust in God. I'm sure it does, but the insurance companies certainly don't'.
because they could get sued if someone got struck
For catching the electricity from the lightening - this will then be passed on to the congregation so they can become filled with the holy ghost. ;-)
