Isn't it now clear that the EU is undemocratic and we need to fight off the Jackboot of the power hungry Commission?
Who can defend this voluntary submission to serfdom?

K. Eh?
O
It’s been clear for a long time but do you have a more recent reason for thinking this?
Yes. Was clear well before the referendum.
Maybe it's God's will?
Apparently God helps those who help themselves.

(I hear that EU elites and MEPs help themselves.)
Heil Merkel

Arise Sir Jeremy Corpsbootbin.

We don't have a chance.

Emigrate now.
Is God telling you that?
Or perhaps its one of your mad ranting videos.
It's been very clear for a long time that the EU is an undemocratic power-grabbing machine and equivalent to Communism. It was something MrJ2 and I became aware of during the later years we lived in France (Macron was a power-hungry and absolutely useless junior minister). We both became convinced of what has since transpired (the formation of a superstate)and moved back to the UK.
I can't see how anyone can a) defend the EU and b)want to place our people and country into serfdom within it. Seriously, we picked up the mood and direction when we were there - our French friends did not like it either.

I expect a lot of flack. :)

Not one remainer has ever engaged me on the lack of democracy in the EU.
jourdain: "I can't see how anyone can a) defend the EU and b)want to place our people and country into serfdom within it." - that puzzles me constantly mate yet so many seem to crave it.

Turkeys voting for Xmas.
You realise that all this nonsense is an insult to those people who oppose the EU for sensible reasons.
Well no I guess not :-)
Question Author
Isn't the lack of democracy a legitimate reason?
I'd be happy to explain why I'm comfortable with our position inside the EU, but in order to be worth my time, you'd have to at least try to be prepared to take anything I say seriously. Anyone who thinks of our relationship with the EU as "serfdom", or what have you, is plainly not interested in listening to an alternative point of view anyway.

That's what my "K" meant, really. I can't be bothered to engage with this thread any more than this post.

Meanwhile, yet another raft of government documents came out today, demonstrating what we all knew already yet again, ie that "no deal" would be probably the biggest act of national suicide imaginable.
Not suicide. Self-harm or maiming, yes ...
Well maybe it was a little hyperbolic, but still -- anyone thinking "no deal" is even remotely desirable is barmy.
