Just wondering, how many of you drink alcohol on a daily basis, with or after your evening meal perhaps?

Lots of posts refer to people having a drink and I just wondered how many of you drink each day.

I'm rubbish at drinking. Very occasionally, I do, but not much- it goes straight to my head...
Guilty up until the moment that our Shortbread Senate decreed a much lower blood/alcohol limit for drink driving compared to the rest of the UK. Just can't take the chance next morning, even just a couple of cans.

More recently my enforced confinement and having to take amitriptyline has kept me dry for the last six weeks or so.
Certainly not every day, it's not compatible with my job. Sometimes I go for a week or even two without a drink.
Also never to excess (I did enough of that in my twenties)
it varies....if I open a bottle of wine then I will probably drink it over 3 or 4 nights and them maybe not have any other alcohol for a few days to a week to a month.....

We have a glass of Wine with and maybe another after Dinner most nights.
If it's hot there maybe a cold Stella involved at some stage but never more than two, and a G and T is not unknown so long as tomorrow is not a 'School Day'
Awaits arrival of Scotch Troll to 'have a go'
A life-long teetotaller, it's never been a question for me.

In parallel with our differing attitudes to children from other nations in the world - see the Madeleine McCann thread - we differ in our approach to alcohol.

The vast majority of other countires, Europeans especially, drink socially, with food, and with enjoyment.

The British, for some reason, drink to be drunk - their choices based on the fast inebriation for the least cost.

Yes that is generalising, but it is still true.
Hi Tilly, a bottle of wine .. same as woof. Lager, weekends couple at the most. Any more and I couldn't function, it would send me to sleep.
Very little here. Like it but can't afford it.But when I was married it was a race to make sure I got my half of the bottle each night. I had to....

I didn't like the out of total control feeling of drinking alcohol so I gave up when I was about 18. If I go to a wedding or something I might have some wine but could never finish the glass

Baldric - what's a Scotch Troll? Or is Scottish Troll or am I missing something - as per usual.

The vast majority of other countires, Europeans especially, drink socially, with food, and with enjoyment.

Good grief.
Have you ever socialised with any Europeans?
I just have a white wine spritzer from time to time, even that goes to my head a little.
For many years I had a couple of V&Ts every night, then one day I just stopped, I was worried I was addicted. I was fine.
We have wine with our Sunday dinner and occasionally we drink spirits in the week. But not every night tho.
I only drink real ale two pints a day. Never spirits and only very rarely wine.
The government advice is to have 2 alcohol free days a week so that means you should have a drink on the other 5 days!
Depends on what day of the week it is ( unless I'm on hols ), have to get up for work five days a week.
I try to have a day or two alcohol free days a week. Love a few glasses of Chardonney or Sauvignon Blanc, a VAT goes down well too, only occasionally though.
Havnt had a drink for 2 weeks and 4 days. Not bad going for me seeing as I was drinking a bottle of vodka for breakfast not so long ago...
Well done, nailit.
Well done, nailit xx I drank heavily and stopped at 18. I was teetotal for over 20 years. Have only just restarted in the last couple of years.
Thanks Tony and Pix
Ive always maintained that addictions arnt a problem. They are a symptom.
